When going on a road trip, one of the first important preparations you need to do is your itinerary for where you’re going. Setting out your plan of where you want to visit, what attractions you want to see and how long you want to stay in certain places can give you an indication of how much money you need for your trip as well as how long it should roughly take you. Things can go wrong, and things can be delayed, but if you know your approximations you can set yourself up to be as organized as possible.

Finally, if you’re going to certain places, then you can book in advance for overnight stays, which normally ends up a lot more affordable.

If you’re going away for six months, you could let out your home and bring in extra income from the rent to cover extra expenses that may arise. If you do look to rent it out or simply just leave the house vacant, you don’t want your mail or parcels to pile up or be left with strangers. Because you will be going in your car or van, you want to pack as little as possible when preparing to go on a road trip. If the car is filled to the brim with stuff, you’ll be unable to comfortably sleep and move around. This is especially critical when you’ll be driving for a long time and be spending a lot of time in your car. You want to be as comfortable and as happy as possible. In these instances, a lot of camping gear will be very beneficial as it is compact, easily transferable and will be handy when you need it.
